COUNTY COMMITTEE ELECTS OFFICERS



This August 17, 2004, the Pettis County Republican Central Committee elected Carla Young. as Chairman and Stanley Cox as Vice-Chairman; David Dick as Treasurer and Meg Liston as Secretary. This is the second election as County Chairman for Carla Young. She has served as County Chairman for over two years, and is pleased to have the opportunity to lead the Party into the November 2004 General Election. Carla recently stated, "The Republican Party has a history of electing good public servants in Pettis County. The PCRC is committed to increasing the percentage of the vote in favor of President George W. Bush, re-electing Senator Kit Bond and electing Republicans up and down the ticket". Carla is married to Gary and they have two grown children. They reside at 809 West Broadway. UPCOMING EVENTS

Campaign Kick-off and OLD FASHIONED POLITICAL RALLY

TARGET (The Association of Republicans Getting Everyone Together) will sponsor a Campaign Kick-off on Thursday, September 9th, 2004, at the home of Larry and Rosalee Wilson, 27143 Prairie Road, Sedalia, Missouri, starting at 6:30 p.m. To get to the Wilson Farm, travel West on 16th Street from Sedalia, then South on Prairie Road. Tickets are $7.50 each, $5.00 seniors, and children 5 and younger are free. A complimentary ticket for this event is provided free for your 2004 TARGET membership renewal (good through September 1, 2005). KEVIN BOND Fund Raiser


Friends and supports of Kevin Bond for Sheriff have scheduled a BBQ DINNER FUND RAISER for Monday, September 13, 2004, from 5:30 - 8:30 pm at 3000 South Limit Avenue at Patricia Mexican Restaurant Sedalia, Missouri. Tickets are $25.00 for individuals, $40.00 per couple, $10.00 for student (age 17 and under), and pre-school children are free. This is a family event! Matt Mergen for Assessor Steak Dinner

Come out to the Mergen farm for a steak dinner on Saturday, September 25, 2004, at 5:30 pm. The menu will include 6 oz. rib eye steaks, barbeque beans, cheesy potatoes and dinner rolls. A hayride and bonfire will be a highlight of the evening. Tickets are $20.00 individual, $35.00 per pair, children 5 and under are free. The Mergen farm is located 7 miles southwest of Sedalia on B Highway (Green Ridge Road). Watch for signs and balloons. For tickets and more information, please contact Matt.

Matt and Jennifer Boatright will sponsor a Whole Hog Fund Raiser at their home, located at 29612 Pony Path Road, Sedalia, Missouri, on Saturday, October 9, 2004, at 4:30 p.m. Admission will be made through donations to any of our Republican Candidates. VICTORY PARTY



The Pettis County Republican Committee and all Republican Candidates are co-sponsoring a "Victory Celebration" in the Banquet Hall of the Bothwell Hotel on Election Eve, Tuesday, November 2, 2004, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Donations of food are encouraged. Please plan to come and join your friends as we watch the election returns.

"72 Hour Task Force"

The County Committee has adopted the "72-Hour Task Force" program created by the Republican National Committee. The "Team Leaders" described in the volunteer sign up card are persons who are willing to help identify favorable Republican voters, so that we can contact them the 72-hours prior to the election to assure that they vote on November 2, 2004.
