McKinley
Day Celebration
The Annual Pettis
County McKinley Day Celebration is scheduled for Friday, February 17, 2006
at 6:30 p.m. at the State Fair Motor Inn-Best Western. A cash bar reception
will begin at 6:00 p.m. They keynote speaker will be United States Senator
Jim Talent. A highlight of this event will be the installation of the
Pettis County Pachyderm Officers for 2006. Tickets to this event are $25.00
per person or $40.00 per couple if purchased in advance and $30/$50 at the
door, and may be purchased from any member of the Pettis
County Republican Central Committee or contacting Carla Young , Pettis County
Republican Chairman. The public is invited to this county-wide event. Come
and join Jim and fellow Republicans at the 105th annual Pettis County
McKinley Dinner.
Donations Invited for McKINLEY DAY
AUCTION
Auction items are needed for the live and silent auction
which will be held in conjunction with the Annual McKinley Day Celebration.
New items, as well as collectibles, are needed for donation. If you have
items which you would like to donate, we would ask that you deliver your
auction items to the home of Carla Young, Chairman, at 809 West Broadway,
Sedalia, Missouri, or to the office of Stanley Brian Cox, at 202 West
Fourth Street, Sedalia, Missouri. These items should be delivered no later
that 5:00 p.m. on Monday, February 12, 2006, in order that they may be
prepared for the auction scheduled for the following Friday. Your
contributions will be greatly appreciated.
OFFICE FILINGS
Filings for local
office begin on Feburary 28, 2006, at the County Clerk's Office. This
includes all members of the Pettis County Republican Central Committee.
Filings end on Tuesday, March 28, 2006. The following positions will be
elected in 2006, which are currently held by Democrats, are Circuit Clerk,
County Clerk, Recorder of Deeds and Collector of Revenue. Republicans
currently hold the offices to be elected in 2006 of Senator of the 28th
District (Delbert Scott); Representative from the 116th District (Tom
Self); Representative from the 117th District (Kenny Jones); Representative
from the 118th District (Todd Smith); Representative from the 119th
District (Shannon Cooper); Presiding Commissioner (Rusty Kahrs);
Prosecuting Attorney (Jeff Mittelhauser); Auditor (Connie Purchase);
Assessor (Dean Dohrman); Circuit Judge - Division Four (Robert Koffman);
Circuit Judget - Division Five (R. Paul Beard); and Circuit Judge -
Division Six (Robert Liston). If you have interest in running for office,

PETTIS COUNTY REPUBLICAN
ORGANIZATIONS
One of the best way to get involved in Republican politics is by
affiliating with the fine Republican auxiliary organizations which exist in
Pettis County. The current officers of these organizations are provided for
your information.
Pettis County TARGET -The Association of Republicans Getting Everyone
Together. Officers: President Max Coble; Vice-President Stanley Cox;
Secretary Meg Liston; Treasurer David Dick. For more information, contact

Pettis County REPUBLICAN WOMENS CLUB: Officers:
President Barbara Hagebusch; Vice-President Cathy Chancellor; Secretary
Tammi Smith; Treasurer Cathy Chancellor. Meetings are held in the evenings
in members homes. Guests and new members are always welcome. Dues are
$15.00 per year. For more information, contact Barbara Hagebusch.
Pettis County PACHYDERM CLUB: Officers: President Robert Skip Smith;
Vice-President Randy Griffis; Secretary Meg Liston; Treasurer Max Coble.
This club meets every Friday at 12:00 noon at the Liberty Café, 148 South
Limit Avenue, Sedalia, Missouri. Guests are welcome. For more information,
